Travelling to HSoG

The HSoG entrance at Schlossplatz 1 has been opened since February 2006. The entrance to the administration building is around the corner from Schlossplatz at Breitestraße 1. The administration building is behind the former Staatsratsgebäude (learning center - esmt campus) and is the first building on the Breitestraße on the right side.

By Car

Upon exiting the highway, simply follow the signs to Mitte. The Hertie School of Governance is located at the esmt campus on Schlossplatz 1, opposite the Berlin Cathedral and southwest of Alexanderplatz. Metered parking is available at Schlossplatz or on the surrounding side.

By Public Transport from the train stations

From Berlin Zoo Station: Take the U2 (underground train) in the direction of Pankow and get off at Alexanderplatz. The campus is a 10 minute walk from the station. Go south towards the Rote Rathaus (Red Town Hall) and follow the Rathausstraße over the river Spree until you reach the Schlossplatz.

or:

Take buses 100 or 200 in the direction of Prenzlauer Berg/Michelangelostraße and get off at Lustgarten. From the bus stop, walk across the Schlossplatz to the main entrance of the campus. Travel time is approximately 30 minutes.

From Berlin Ostbahnhof Station: Take the S5, S75, or S9 (overground train) going west and get off at Alexanderplatz (the third station). The campus is a 5-10 minute walk away. Go south towards the Rote Rathaus (Red Town Hall) and follow the Rathausstraße over the river Spree until you reach the Schlossplatz.

or:

Take bus 147 in the direction of U Leopoldplatz, get off at Mühlendamm/Breite Straße, walk in the direction the bus was going and take the first left onto Schlossplatz to reach the main entrance of the campus. Travel time is approximately 20 minutes. The bus runs at 20 minute intervals.

From Berlin Hauptbahnhof/ Lehrter Bahnhof: Take the S5, S75, or S9 (aboveground train) east and get off at Alexanderplatz. The campus is a 10 minute walk from there. Go south towards the Rote Rathaus (Red Town Hall) and follow the Rathausstraße over the river Spree until you reach the Schlossplatz.

By Taxi from Berlin train station Ostbahnhof

The closest train station to the Hertie School of Governance is the Berlin Ostbahnhof. Travel time is approximately 10 minutes and the fare approx. EUR 8.

By Taxi from Berlin-Tegel International Airport / Berlin-Schönefeld Airport / Berlin-Tempelhof Airport

Travel time from Berlin-Tegel International Airport is approximately 20 minutes, with a fare of approx. EUR 20. Travel time from Berlin-Schönefeld Airport is approximately 30 minutes, with a fare of approx. EUR 30. Travel time from Berlin-Tempelhof Airport is approximately 15 minutes, with a fare of approx. EUR 15. Please note that not all German taxi operators accept credit cards, so please check with the driver before starting your journey.

By Public Transport from Berlin-Tegel International Airport (TXL)

Take Bus TXL in the direction of Mollstraße/Prenzlauer Berg and get off at Lustgarten. From the bus stop, simply walk across the Schlossplatz to reach the main entrance of the campus. Travel time is approximately 30 minutes. The bus runs in 10 minutes intervals.

By Public Transport from Berlin-Schönefeld International Airport (SXF)

Take the Airport Express or any aboveground train from the airport train station to Alexanderplatz. The campus is a 5-10 minute walk from Alexanderplatz. Go south towards the Rote Rathaus (Red Town Hall) and follow the Rathausstraße over the river Spree until you reach the Schlossplatz. Travel time is approximately 45 minutes.

By Public Transport from Berlin-Tempelhof Airport (THF)

Take the Underground line U6 in the direction of Alt-Tegel to Friedrichstraße. From there walk south along Friedrichstraße until you reach "Unter den Linden", take Bus 200 or 100 going to Prenzlauer Berg/Michelangelostraße and get off at Lustgarten. Walk across the Schlossplatz to the main entrance of the esmt campus. Travel time is approximately 30 minutes.
